The United States women’s national team is gearing up for their 2015 World Cup quarterfinals matchup against China, and yet pundits everywhere are calling them underperforming and overestimated.

Seriously.

We’re three victories away from another World Cup title and we’re underperforming. Good job, Planet Earth.

Tonight’s match is against China, a team they haven’t played in a World Cup match since 1999, a 0-0 draw that went to penalty kicks and launched the U.S. women’s national team into the international spotlight.
