The wait is over.
The highly-anticipated third entry in the Mass Effect franchise arrived this past Tuesday and promises to be the best of the acclaimed series.
The game sold 890,000 copies in its first day on sale, and 3.5 million copies have been shipped worldwide.
Mass Effect 3 is the conclusion to Commander Shepard’s epic story that began in Mass Effect. In Mass Effect, Shepard became the first human Spectre and stopped rogue Spectre Saren Arterius before he could unleash the deadly Reapers upon the galaxy. The Reapers, who exterminate all organic life in the galaxy every 50,000 years, are not easily stymied. In Mass Effect 2, they enlist the help of the Collectors and have them abduct entire human colonies. It’s up to Shepard and his elite team to embark on a suicide mission and take the fight to the Collectors.
In Mass Effect 3, you take on the role of Shepard once again and must assemble a powerful force to take back Earth and stop the Reapers once and for all.

Much of the appeal of Mass Effect comes from its rich storyline, incredible attention to detail, vast customization options, and how the choices you make have repercussions down the road.
For those of you who will be picking up a copy of Mass Effect 3, will you import a character from Mass Effect or Mass Effect 2, or will you create a brand new Shepard?
Will your Shepard be male or female? What class(es) will you use? Will you go the Paragon route and be the shining beacon of hope, morality, and all that is good in the universe, or will you be a Renegade and cross whatever line you need to get the job done without a guilty conscience?
If you’re a returning Mass Effect player, what choices did you make? Did you save the Council in Mass Effect? Who did you choose to die: Kaidan or Ashley? Did you release the Rachni queen or kill her on Noveria? In Mass Effect 2, did you choose Samara or Morinth? Did you activate Legion? Were all your squad members loyal? Did they all survive? What choice did you make at the end?
Finally, what romance options did you pursue, and are you going to continue that romance or seek out a new partner?
The choices are yours.
