I have to admit, I'm one of those sports fans who if I don't know what something means, I have no shame in asking. Except when it comes to things that I should technically "already know". That is the problem that I continuously run into the problem of when I hear the terms "cover the spread" or "I'll take the points". I do what a lot of girls do, shake my head and smile to give off the perception that "yeah she knows what she's talking about". But why fake it if you can learn it and score some cash on top of it?! So continue reading to discover the answers to What is a point spread? So what does it mean to "cover" the spread? What does "Agianst the Spread" mean? What does "Over/Under" mean?
When I set the date for my wedding almost 2 years ago, I figured I had plenty of time to search for the perfect everything.
I figured one of the easier tasks would be looking for a wedding cake. I want a nice "girly cake" and also 4 cakes (that are small) that represent the favorite sports teams of my fiance and I.
Little did I know, looking for the perfect wedding cake is no easy task will take much longer than I anticipated. My favorite 2 teams are the Jacksonville Jaguars and Boston Red Sox. I know I want Fenway Park to represent the Sox but the Jags cake I'm still undecided. Dan (my fiance) would like for the Boston Gardens (Bruins) and old Tiger Stadium (Detroit).
From doing some brief research on the internet, some of the cakes are so incredible that I'm not even sure about my decision to get a stadium cake.
With a little over 7 months to go (5/15/09) I definitely have my work cut out for me as far as choosing the sports cakes among every other details that have to be addressed. Below are some great sports cakes I found on Flickr. But not exactly what I want yet....

Continuing with our new blog series called "Tailgate Tested Recipes". This series features recipes chosen off various sites and rates each recipe based on convenience, prep time, cook time and of course, taste.
At first glance, this seemed to be a much better week for tailgating than the previous game vs Arizona. Beautiful sun with partly cloudy skies made way to welcome our hated rivals, the Tennessee Titans. The Jags have had problems in recent years facing the Titans but this Sunday afternoon, was a bit different.
I'm happy to say that the Jags stomped on the throats of our rivals; ultimately beating the Titans 37-17 and much needed drumline dance commenced after the game.
But we are here to talk about the food BEFORE the game. This week's recipe came from Guy Fieri who hosts several shows on the Food Network.

Yes you read that correctly, a couple of guys made a song out the popular tailgating game Cornhole. It really was only a matter of time until something like this was done. The song is surprisingly catchy and well thought out. Listen and you will be tappin your feet before too long.

This series will feature recipes chosen off various sites and will rate each recipe based on convenience, prep time, cook time and of course, taste.

Tailgating 101 Series. series includes tailgating 101; top tailgating equipment; tailgating games
Playing games while tailgating is a very important part of the experience. Most of the time if you are tailgating you are at one spot hours before the start of the game. You want to have a little fun and get all your friends involved. Surefire ways to get everyone involved and having fun is by playing tailgating games such as Cornhole and Beer Pong. Check out the rules and videos on the most popular games that tailgaters play.

CornHole (aka Tailgate Toss or Chuck-O)
I never played this game until late 08 but it is quickly becoming one of my favorites! The game is nothing but a couple boards with a hole in it and you try to throw a bean bag through the hole or land on the board. You can make your own cornhole boards or spend about $100 for a team specific set.
Beer Pong
My personal tailgate game favorite! Beer Pong brings out the competitive nature in everyone and gets the drinks flowing. The game is a great icebreaker and always ultimately becomes the "life of the party". It only takes a package of famous "red cups", ping pong balls and a table. The table used can be any old table, a ping pong table or if your serious about BP action, you can grab custom team tables that are pretty legit (cost roughly $100--but are completely portable and fold up nicely for easy travel to tailgating events)

Leave the Sippin seats to the boys and get me one of these! This contraption is a bra that holds up to 64 shots or almost 7 beers. OH and did I mention it fills up in a compartment in the bra? Thus making you appear to have bigger boobs. Score! It will be the best $25 you have ever spent.
