IT’S JULY 4TH, AMERICA! WAKE THE F*CK UP!

If you’re located in the great United States of America, you should be eating hotdogs, drinking beer, watching baseball, lighting fireworks, and doing all the other things associated with being an American.

Since most of you, including myself, will be doing these things, I felt it important to actually catch your interest in this article with some themed videos and debunked myths on the famous holiday.

That’s what I like to call: “grabbing the readers attention for the stuff they actually want to read!”

Hit the jump to check out the infamous President’s speech from Independence Day, some great patriotic drinks, a song from Team America, July 4th myths, and more!

Because it isn’t July 4th without a Will Smith Movie

This is one of the few speeches that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The speech he gives in the movie Independence Day motivates me so much that if Bill Pullman ran for President, I would vote for him without hesitation. I’d also jump into a fighter jet with absolutely no training… AND NO FEAR.

July 4th bullshit

Looking for a conversation starter? National Geographic ran a story on common Independence Day beliefs that are absolute lies.

Common myths debunked include: The Declaration of Independence wasn’t signed on July 4th, 1776 (they waited until November) and Betsy Ross likely didn’t sew up the first American flag.

It’s good to know what’s fact and what’s myth. But I love the myths, so I think I’ll keep these myths as the status quo simply because it makes for a better story.

Go America. F*ck Yeah.

The lyrics are explicit but the song couldn’t be more spot on. Taco Bell, rodeos, Disney Land, rock and roll, Christmas, the NFL… the list goes on and on. And the song isn’t too bad either. (It kind of is, but who cares?)

What’s July 4th without a little drinking?

Huffington Post had this awesome post on different patriotic drinks you can serve up. As well as teaching you how to make a spiked watermelon!
