Wedding invitations are something that brides fuss over for months.

Should I make them myself?

What colors? Ribbons? Envelopes?

What text and font style should I use?

All of these details seem very insignificant to me as I see the wedding invitation as something my guests will just throw away after the wedding anyway, so why the big fuss?

That was until I stumbled upon these amazing invitations and save the dates that make me wish I would have put a little bit more time into my invitations other than just buying the cute ones I saw at Walmart.

Custom geeky artwork is usually pretty good but to link in Star Wars and Kayne into your wedding invitations is pure genius.

Xmen Comic Save the Date

Being that I love Xmen with all of my being, I had to add this one. Especially because Rogue is my FAVORITE Xmen. Man I wish I had enough time to rip this off.

Viewmaster Wedding Invite

This is freakin awesome. This couple actually took their wedding invitation and placed it on an old school slide screen to use with a View Master.

Custom Playable Video Game Invite

To save the best for last, this couple has astonished me as to how creative you can get for your wedding and truly make it original. They made an 8-bit video game with 2 playable characters (bride and groom) with the goal of the game to get to the end so you can see all of the wedding details. This is is what the invitation packaging looking like (all made by the couple).

 

The packaging includes information booklets and a cd to play the games. You can check out a sample of what the game looks like right here or actually download the game and play it yourself!

Baseball themed invites

I really like the viewmaster invitation. That was really different. I just ordered a set of customized invitations with a baseball theme. We worked with a designer to incorporate a photo of us in the design. Turned out great! We found them at www.sportsthemedweddings.com.
