When EA and Bioware teamed up to make a Star Wars game, most were not sure of the outcome. Some may have been excited or terrified at the thought of someone not named Lucas working such an iconic franchise but after today’s E3 showing, Lucas and the fans should have NOTHING to to worry about.
From Gamespot: “The trailer opened with two side-by-side narratives; a woman's voice that represented the Galactic Republic and a coarse man's voice that represented the Sith. The Galactic Republic has to defend its home, while the Sith wish to reclaim their ancient home. The trailer also showed off the many locations, like Alderaan and Coruscant from past trailers.”

In one terribly kept secret that a new Halo game would make an appearance at E3, it still didn’t stop gamers from squealing in joy at the sight of Master Chief making his return to the staple of the Xbox franchise.
No Kinect usage was announced, or denied, for the 2012 holiday release but online play for the title is said to be “revolutionized”.

I feel like the title alone says enough but just in case you need a few more words on this announcement, you will now be able to complete every nerd’s dream by pretending to use the Force and a Lightsaber on Star Wars Kinect.
This game that centers around becoming a Jedi, originally appeared last year at E3 and this is the first actual game footage for a game that is being released next year. Perhaps releasing next year will give them more time to work on the graphics that are well, shitty and too cartooney.
I’d still get it on Game Fly just so I could use the Force and a Lightsaber. Not sure if its worth a purchase though.

Cliffy B, the resident bad ass creative developer behind the GOW franchise and other games like Bulletstorm joined the stage with Ice T to show off what he calls “the most polished Gears of War game to date”.
For those who did not participate in the beta, I won’t waste your time any longer. Gears of War 3 releases in September of 2011 and is an Xbox exclusive.

In the Microsoft press conference today, Kinect was a big theme but it was also the additions to Xbox Live that Msoft focused heavily on. Its clear with the announcements, Xbox wants to be your entertainment hub for the home.
Added features include voice commands to music, movies and yes, games to have effortless control in one place. Ten additional partnerships, like You Tube, were announced along with Bing using the tagline “You say it, Xbox finds it”. With Bing, you will be able to search anything on Xbox, either what you own or what you are curious about will show up in your search results.
Live TV will also appear on XBL with news, sports and your favorite local channels. Microsoft speaker was quoted as saying “this is our vision for the future of television”. The Live TV function launches this fall.

Ghost Recon Future Solider was first seen at last year’s E3 and has been for the most part absent from any recent news. Until now.
At the Microsoft press conference for E3, the Tom Clancy game was shown with full game play footage with features like Kinect ability, custom voice commands and to much delight, custom weapons down to the interlockings that create for up to twenty million possibilities that can change through voice or gesture.
Its also important to note that all future Tom Clancy games will have Kinect support. Perhaps crushing my dream of Splinter Cell returning back to the PS3.

Microsoft may have started out with Modern Warfare 3 gameplay footage but when the attention was switch to Mass Effect, it had the whole audience’s attention.
In the on stage demo, the game was explained to have the similar theme as the Fable franchise in which you can make decisions based on the theme “choice and consequence”. Where every decision you make creates for a different outcome in what you do and how the game is played.
Other options that were announced were Kinect capability and the ability to choose your dialogue while fighting for the universe to fluidly launch tactical assaults vs your enemies.

no commentsDuring the week before the Superbowl of Video Games dubbed E3, anyone who halfway enjoys playing video games knows this is the time of the year that all sorts of gaming news comes out to make us all weak in the knees.
But a lot of people don’t feel that way about video games and one of those people is comedian Dara O’Brain. In a short clip we obtained from Charlie Brooker’s Gameswipe, Dara sits down to explain just exactly why he thinks video games suck.
Gears of War 3, Grand Theft Auto 4 and Rock Band are at the center of the discussion and while we disagree on his central premise, he does make the argument very entertaining and sort of thought provoking.
Because why can’t you just play a song you want on Rock Band and why is it do some games make a campaign level so hard its almost impossible to get past forcing you to quit the game out of frustration.
So while you may not agree with Mr. O’Briain, his segment is certainly entertaining. Check out the video below...
