Spoof shows the Cavs fan passion turned hatred for Lebron
Self admittedly, I am not the biggest basketball whiz but I never have really understood the growing hatred nationwide for an athlete who has spent the majority of his professional career trying to win a championship for a town who hasn't won anything in decades.
Since the much hyped "Decision" special on ESPN back in July, Lebron James overall public opinion has suffered immensely to the point where it doesn't seem like the kid can ever say anything without getting ridiculed.
Yes, I am aware he was/is "The Chosen One" and perhaps made a few ghastly flawed marketing expenditures but why so much hate over someone who wants to spread their wings?
After all, its always considered a business decision when a team doesn't resign a player or trades them but Lebron is traitor for going where the grass is greener in a bigger spotlight in a better city?
And then it hit me, I have been in the Cav's fan position before. As a Red Sox fan, Johnny Damon was a God to me. He famously wrote a book saying "he could never play for the Yankees for any amount of money" and look what did that traitor POS do 2 years later? I still hate his guts to this day and dream of the opportunity to spit in his face ala Robert Downey Jr in Due Date.
Which is exactly why this commercial makes so much sense. For the fans of the game, money and greener pastures means nothing to us.
Fans are about loyalty and while the business side of things seems to get in the way at times, lost are the days players like Cal Ripken Jr.
Professional sports begins and ends with the fans. Perhaps it is better to do what your overall support system wants instead of skipping town on broken promises. At the very least, hold to your word and then spread your wings.

Toronto right winger Colton Orr is well known around the NHL as being one of "tough guys" aka don't eff with him.
But with less than 14 minutes to go in the second period, Penguins rookie Deryk Engelland got into a scuffle with Orr where Orr connected on many blows but it was the rookie that delivered the final blow to win the fight.
The Toronto Maple Leafs beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 on Wednesday night leaving the Penguins still win-less in their own barn. But from the looks of the following video, the rookie may have lost the game but won the fight and was a stand up dude in not continuing to hit Orr as he fell.
I heart hockey fights

Incredible picture taken right before being hit Tiger's golf ball
Tiger Woods has always had a hate/hate relationship with photographers on the course well before his run-in's with the photogs off the course. But on Sunday during the Ryder Cup, he showed one photographer precisely what he thinks about that camera being pointed at him.
The photog snapped a picture a millisecond before the ball struck him in the chest. Tiger of course was no amused as he had to then take a shot directly where the ball hit the ground.
But aside from Tiger and the actual golf ball, take a look at some of the fans in attendance to the right of Tiger. They look like they are straight out of Happy Gilmore while Tiger's longtime caddie Steve Williams looks on in disgust.
Not sure why this photographer would be in this spot before someone takes a tee shot, but you know the only thing Tiger wanted to do was to take that tee shot off the photog's face.

When the hockey and basketball seasons start up, honestly, I could give two s#$%. With the exceptions of the Christmas Day basketball games and the always stellar Winter Classic, its football all day everyday until February.
But with the NHL season kicking off this week, we think its only right to stir up some controversy before Ovie and Crosby start crying about which one is better, let's bring it back to the classic debate of Gretzky or Lemieux.
Both being non-Americans, I guess this debate will suffice for now. But then again, do we even have a comparable American player debate? Didn't think so, so deal with what cha' got.

Why yes, yes it can.
If you have a pulse then you probably are aware that Caddyshack is one of the greatest sports movies ever. But what could make the staple in American culture seem like a completely different movie? Maybe the fact that Caddyshack has now been Inceptionized.
The edited Caddyshack version is one of many trailers created around the Geek obsessed movie spawned from numerous websites which include the movies a "Dora The Explorer", "The Dark Knight" and "Dumb & Dumber" that have also been Inceptionized. It's amazing that editing and sound can appear to change an entire movie, escpecially one that is so well known.
I think Caddyshack just got epic
Am I the Only One Who Gets Pumped Up From These Commercials?
Marketing campaigns from big businesses like Budweiser, Gatorade and Nike seem to always hit the nail on the head when it comes to making the commercials that represent their products in a funny, witty, inspirational and in this case, extremely motivational.
More recently, companies are flocking to the music of the commercial to help with the possible revenue the commercial hopes to achieve. (think freecreditreport.com band music marketing campaign) For music commercials, I am extremely partial to the motivational sports commercials that inspire mainly from the music of choice.
Below is the top five motivational music themed sports commercials.....
Gatorade Has Evolved
If this song doesn't get your toes tapping, you might as well paint yourself red for the color of the communists.

Picture hard hits into the boards, quick offensive plays and guys that come off in "shifts" after so many plays. The arena football league has been looked at as something of a joke over the past 20+ years of the league's existence.
Whether its the short field, the ridiculous amount of points that are scored or the fact that the coaching staff is set up where a hockey rink Zamboni would be seem to overshadow what a great time going to an AFL game can be. The football is so-so but its the atmosphere of the game and just like hockey, cannot be duplicated on television.
In front of a second consecutive sellout at the Veteran's Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida I took witness to my third Sharks game of the year and it got me thinking....why isn't Arena Football more popular than what it is today?

Could this be the greatest sports mash-up ever? Me thinks, YES!
DJ Steve Porter made his second trip to Sportsnation debuting a video mash-up of the top celebu-athletes and the crazy stuff they say. Athletes such as Tiger, Favre, Randy Moss, Chad Ocho Cinco and yes, Lebron make an appearance along with numerous others.
There is no need for anymore text...just watch the video already and be amazed.

A new infographic was recently released on the topic of Concussions and the role they play in sports. The infographic detailed the startling statistics that should alarm any coach, spouse, trainer or parent.
During a concussion, neural tissue is violently jolted within the skull, which can directly damage brain cells and blood vessels that directly feed the neural tissue. A common misconception about concussions is the fact that you have to be hit in the head in order to suffer a concussion, when in reality, any blow to the body that causes a quick movement of the head can cause a concussion.
