Royal Pains, USA’s medical drama set in the Hamptons, returned this week with A Farewell to Barnes, and there was a lot going on. Jill Casey is still planning to leave the Hamptons to pursue her career dreams, which puts her relationship with Dr. Hank Lawson in a state of limbo.
Divya’s medication error nearly cost Eric Kasabian his life, and that would be bad because he’s a HankMed patient AND he’s Wilmer Valderrama. Evan and Paige finally got engaged when she decided she didn’t care if the General approved and proposed to him, luckily, he carries around his mom’s engagement ring just in case. . .(awwwww!).
Meanwhile, Hank treated Lucy the caterer for a plethora of symptoms, culminating in an hilarious panic attack at the Barnes’ divorce party (divorce party? How cool is THAT?!). Here’s secretly hoping they bring back Lucy for more episodes; she was funny.
Eric Kasabian recovered and forgave Divya for her mistake, but she resigned from the hospital anyway. The episode closed with her confessing the error to Hank, and the story will move forward with the two of them at odds (I hope they work out, Divya is one of my favorite characters).
So what did you think of A Farewell To Barnes? What storyline do you want to see the resolution of the most?
Jill & Hank’s possible break up (and Jill leaving the Hamptons)? Divya and Hank working out their differences or possibly ending their professional relationship (and even their friendship)? Evan and Paige’s wedding (and the General’s reaction)? Or something else?
