Geeky News & Videos
One person, up to 5 instruments played and recorded into Symphony Format
For every significant video game that has ever been released is usually accompanied by a strong emphasis on music. The score of a game can dramatically affect how gamers react to the sometimes emotional situations.
One of the more famous scores in gaming music is the classic tune while roaming around the land of Hyrule in any Zelda game. This song is so famous that it has been redone in numerous different ways but this video is something different.
This guy happens to play the entire instrument lineup to the Hyrule song and records the performance a video like a symphony.
Watch and be amazed. Make sure to watch it until the end as the closing is pretty awesome. Damn good job.
Mods to games, whether external or internal, are always cool. I love how much time some dedicated fans take to create the perfect game in their eyes.
"It (the game) has many power ups, such as the Hammer Suit, Tanooki Suit, Kuribo's shoe, The Billy Gun, and many old and new Yoshis. You can also play the game with a friend in the 2 player co-op mode, were the screen seamlessly splits and combines as the players separate and rejoin."
After I downloaded the game (which you can do here), I realized why I don't play PC games; Just call me a "DeeDa Dee" in your best Carlos Mencia accent. Someone give me a controller STAT so I can whoop some classic Mario behind! It is a little difficult for me to control but it is pretty addicting...which is why I am saving the game to my thumb drive to sneak a play in at work.
Even more impressive is the ability to edit any part of the game itself to suit your desires. Included in the downloaded file are background images, Mario blocks, Luigi himself and many more images. You could essentially add whatever your little heart desires into a "Best of Mario" game.
So check out the video on the best-of levels, download the game and make your own masterpiece!
Hit the title/read more to see the video on different levels, powerups, Yoshis and more in the "Best Of" version of the original Mario Brothers games.
Slowly but surely the world is being taken over by robots. Nail salons aren't even safe anymore with a new machine that can print any nail design you want.
-cue sign of the Apocalypse-
The machine features a database of designs to include things like flowers, various color schemes, polka dots etc. Another feature on the machine is the ability to take a photo of yourself (or whoever you have in mind) and put a photo on the nail itself.
Once a design is chosen, you choose whether you want your image on fingernails or toes, the machine prints the design with HP ink and you slap em' on with some industrial strength waterproof tape.
The touchscreen machine will run you about $1500. Steep at first but when you consider the going rate for a manicure & pedicure (about $60), the machine could pay for itself in as little as 2 years.
Watch the demo video for the machine after the jump.

Yesterday was my birthday and upon reading my daily does of Google Reader, I noticed an article that said "10 Great Comic Book Characters of the Decade". Sounded interesting so I clicked and started reading....
I ran across characters like Jessica Jones and Cassandra Cain/Batgirl (Batgirl), but there was a honorable mention that caught my eye, probably because it was my name!
Upon reading I found out the history of my former life as a super hero similiar to Batgirl. You know the kind of super hero that uses their brain vs having mutant powers.
Turns out I was a flight attendant for Clearfleet Airlines was invited to join the alleged anti-terrorist organization known as the "Etesian Front".
I was tricked into getting onto a plane that was a terriorist target but certain death was avoided because a gentleman by the name of Zahn and I jumped out of the plane as it crashed into the sea.
Sounds pretty intense right? Well that's because I'm a damn super hero! Happy Birthday to me!

I love Halloween....at least I thought I did until I witnessed the preperation this guy in Cleveland has taken.
This gentlemen has managed to build Bumblebee and Optimus Prime replicas from Transformers that are as tall if not bigger than his house!
These things have so much detail to them that they are movie-prop worthy. Besides the slideshows of the current Transformers, there is also a preview of next year to include Decipticons: Barricade and Megatron.
Set your calendars now it just might be worth it...
Hit the jump for a video slideshow of pictures from the artist constructing and touching up his replicas.

I am getting married in 7 months and because of this I have become increasingly obsessed with detailed cakes. I watch Cake Boss, the cake competition shows on the Food Network and have wasted many hours of my life sifting through internet photos at different pictures of cakes.
Kind of sad, I know....
But there is one thing that's undeniable, there are some damn good cake artists out there. I say artists because some of these decorative cakes are literally look too amazing to eat.
Check out the pictures of the Mario Cupcakes. From Mario's eyelashes to the shell markings it makes me wonder what kind of soul you have to want to destroy this. The entire cupcake is completely edible.
Forgive me now because this is the first of many wedding-related posts.

no commentsSince we all love Mario, who wouldn't want to have fine pieces of art represented on their finger nails?
Well myself for one, I don't really care for long nails but these things are pretty impressive. Its not as ballsy as the Mario tatoos on the feet we saw a while ago but this probably required a lot more man hours to complete.
They are all based off of Super Mario Brothers 3 and have incredible detail. And just think, if you actually get it done, you could have all the time in the world to look at them because you damn sure can't do anything else with those long nails!

I stumbled upon these soaps yesterday and thought "holy crap I have to post a blog about this". Completely blown away, I must share this with you right now! So stop what you doing, visit this site, buy these soaps and hope you are really dirty the day they are delivered.
All of the soaps are hand made as shown below and average around $6 for one color soaps and around $10 for FULL COLOR soaps that look good enough to charge up and attempt to play. You also have the ability to choose from almost 20 scents including "Apply Jack Peel", "Juicy Watermelon" and of course "Dragon's Blood".
While the clear focus of the site is to sell Playstation, Xbox and Nintendo controller soaps, the company also sells Tetris peices, calulators, cell phones, space invader characters and other geeky items.
The company Digital Soaps sells the items on Esty.com and have been rated at 100% on over 500 orders. A very important stat when ordering from a website.
How are these soaps made?

Its not too often that you hear something new but still old. This group goes by the name "no question" and has managed to make some surprisingly good music mixed with 8-bit Nintendo beats in the background. Upon hearing the first track, I went to the group's Myspace page and found a couple other songs that were not too shabby either.
The group definitely surpassed my "here's another Paul Wall" expectation. Plus its incredible to hear the old school Nintendo music mixed with something new.
Just an FYI, the video is not something you want to blast around little kids or at work, lots of profanity/drug mentions etc...
I ran across these pictures the other day and felt it was my duty to share. A guy has managed to tattoo Mario and Luigi on one place that will hardly ever be seen; on the bottom of his feet. If you ask me, the placement of the tattoo is almost genius, no can ever see it unless they are meant to or you accidentally prop your fee up on a coffee table. I say "almost genius" because you definitely do not have be a genius to know how to cut your damn toenails.
First advise to 'Mario tat on the feet guy' is if you want to take the bold steps to get this done and actually take pictures to share your tattoo with the world, get a damn pedicure for $20 then properly show off the bad ass tattoo.
