Why does George continue to lie to the Star Wars universe? In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter Lucas explained the need for reediting of the famous Cantina bar scene by stating Greedo missed a point-blank shot and Han retaliated and vaporized him.
"The controversy over who shot first, Greedo or Han Solo, in Episode IV, what I did was try to clean up the confusion, but obviously it upset people because they wanted Solo [who seemed to be the one who shot first in the original] to be a cold-blooded killer, but he actually isn't. It had been done in all close-ups and it was confusing about who did what to whom. I put a little wider shot in there that made it clear that Greedo is the one who shot first, but everyone wanted to think that Han shot first, because they wanted to think that he actually just gunned him down."

Remember Volkswagen incredibly successful commercial that featured a little boy dressed up as Darth Vader and trying to use the Force to choke out a babydoll and destroy a washing machine? Well they have returned with what is called "The Bark Side" that features dogs barking the Imperial March song.
At first it sounds a little confusing but when they really start to get into it, it's clear exactly what they are "barking" to. Some of the dogs are even dressed up as Star Wars characters with a special appearance from the At-At dog himself at the end.
Watch VW's The Bark Side below....

SOPA is something you may have seen or heard about recently as it’s been prominently featured in the news, and if you guessed that it had something do with soup, then you are mistaken.
While “sopa” is the Spanish word for “soup,” SOPA stands for the Stop Online Piracy Act, a controversial House of Representatives bill sponsored by Texas Republican Lamar Smith.
There is a similar bill in the Senate known as PIPA, and no, it has nothing to do with Kate Middleton’s sister.
PIPA is the PROTECT IP Act (full name: Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act of 2011… who comes up with these names?), and both pieces of legislation have drawn the ire of the internet community.

As most of you enjoyed the Star Wars marathons over the holidays, did any of you wonder what it would be like if the same characters in the movies were in our daily lives?
Well a photographer by the name of Cédric Delsaux decided to take some of those infamous characters, place them in urban settings and publish them all in one fantastic book.
The book started out as just landscapes of urban environments but looking at the photos, the French photographer Delsaux realized something was missing and decided to use Star Wars characters in the photos.
Upon seeing the photos, George Lucas calls them "one of the most unique and intriguing interpretations that I have seen.". The book is called "Dark Lens," and just became available for sale in the States.

A recent debate among friends brought about an inherent question that deserves to have an answer to all geeks out there. Which movie, from arguably two of the best movie franchises in Hollywood history, was WORSE: The Phantom Menace or Kingdom of the Crystal Skull?
Posting this question on both Facebook and Twitter sent avid and casual fans into a heated, often one sided debate. Hundreds of comments later, I am still not convinced.
Between Jar Jar Binks and a swinging Shia through the trees with a bunch of monkeys, which movie could you actually sit through and watch if it was the last movie you would ever see?

Almost everyone who was born in the 80’s can easily name their favorite Ninja Turtle at the drop of a hat. But according to website Cracked, your favorite turtle reveals the personality traits you carry as well as your group of close friends in relation to the turtles.
In the video, its the setting of 4 friends sitting around grabbing a bite to eat who start discussing the famous cartoon and even compare it other foursomes such as Sex and the City, Scooby Doo, Seinfeld, The Beatles and The Fantastic Four.
An important quote they make in the video, which I have never really thought about until now is that everyone has a similar favorite GI Joe (Snake Eyes), Xmen (Wolverine) and Power Ranger (Green-then White Ranger). But everybody picks a different favorite turtle not based on coolness, but rather who is the most like you. Who knew a conversation about cartoons could be so damn insightful?

In another amazing video from Cracked.com, the new video features a group of friends sitting around a table and discussing which character they immortalized in Star Wars; hopeful that one day you could actually become that character. The only choices left off the table were Han Solo and Leia (because most people would choose them anyway)
The guys in the conversations throw out the obvious: Luke, Chewy, Obi Won and even Yoda. But when the girl was asked to name another character besides Leia, no one could think of any due to the fact that every other woman in Star Wars was a space hooker.
Which poses the questions....Why weren’t there more female role models in Star Wars, could you actually name all the female characters in the movies and most importantly, is George Lucas trying to establish a Phallocracy (penis + rule)?

Classics include original Gameboy, My Little Pony, Walkman and iPod
Being a baby of the mid-80's myself, its always awesome to see a list of the gifts that I adored getting every Christmas or birthday. My gift choices however tend to sway to the boys side with the exception of Clueless. This movie alone helped me to actually start dressing like a girl. The absolute favorite on the list has to be the original Playstation. Countless hours of entertainment were provided by this device but I'm also partial to the My Little Pony, Britney Spears cd and Gameboy. Quite a combination, I know. Don't judge me.
