Girly News
As we bloggers like to take vacations during the week after Christmas and before the New Year starts, its a time for many of us to reflect on our sites and how well (or terrible) we have done throughout the year. Instead of taking a week off, I wanted to take this as an opportunity to share the articles the visitors of GuysGirl enjoyed the most over the past year.
Throughout the year we have featured a variety of girly topics; some specifically for ladies only while others the male audience can still enjoy, in secret. But from product reviews, tips, tricks and even some heated debates, the splash of girly category on GG has hopefully helped some ladies get inspired and find their shine.
InStyler Review: Does It Really Work?
At first glace, the product looks like a cheap motorized round brush but 5 minutes into the infomercial, I was googling reviews to see if the product really works. I didn't find a single negative review. That was good enough for me to scout out the lowest priced product and have it shipped to my house STAT! But how would the InStyler really work with my thick hair? For the past several years, the NFL and other sports leagues alike have been trying to expand their market share into the female realm of fashion. In doing so, most of the leagues have assumed if you slap pink on sports merchandise, the female fan base will flock to it. But are the true female sports fans actually buying into this? Hit the title/read more to check out the rest of the girly articles that helped you shine in 2010...
What is the one time of year you can slap on shiny shorts, glitter shoes, load up on the jewelry and still not have on nearly as much shine as you would like?
The holidays are the perfect time to get your shine on but luckily for you, Bobbi Thomas is here to show us how to glam up your holiday outfits without breaking the bank. Sometimes her recommendations are a little off but these ideas turn out to be really cute and affordable.
From simple items like sequins, glitter and adhesive jewel kits that can be picked up from a craft store, you can dress up a blazer, panty hose, shoes and even jeans.
Check out the following video to get some ideas for your holiday party outfit.

Leggings that look like jeans are cute, cheap and quite versatile
Perhaps you heard of them or even seen them worn by women all over the place. A type of new clothing that have really taken off in the past year are Jeggings.
Its probably safe to say that most of you are familiar with the type of material used for normal leggings. If not, leggings are usually made of a spandex/nylon material that is about as thick as good pair of tights. Recently, manufacturers has been playing around with similar material to create a "jean" look, hence the name Jeggings.
Unlike regular jeans though, its not entirely appropriate to wear the skin tight Jeggins the same way you would normal jeans. This is especially true for my fellow curvy girls.
So the questions arise, how do you wear these Jeggings and what looks good with them? It could be a little intimidating to think of what to wear with skin-tight "jeans" but turns out you actually have many options and jeggings could become a new staple in your closet.

You want me to glue those rhinestones WHERE?
Perhaps you have heard of friends getting specific "cuts" to their bikini line or ladies who get tattoos/piercings on or near their ho-ha? Well there is now a new trend called Vajazzling which entails adding some jewels, usually in the shape of a pattern, to your area "down there".
Celebs like Jennifer Love Hewitt swear by the procedure and she even goes as far as saying it help you with confidence after a breakup. -Little note to Jennifer...I'm sure any guy that is smiling at your "down there" doesn't give a crap about your sparkly vajajay because he is already thinking of how he is going to shine. Shawing.
But how is the process completed and what are the costs? Its not exactly done as you see in the picture below but the results will surprise you.

A Work Boot/Stiletto combo that only an idiot would purchase
I'm sure I'm not alone out there when I get the urge to do some yard work, I strap on a pair of heels. Wait? You don't? I knew there could be an easier way to take the trash out and mountain climb. So give it to the liars at Teva to create a $330 shoe designed to do just that.
$330 for that?!! In the words of Peter Griffin "I hope they kissed ya first". I'm all for cute clothes, heels and fashion but be practical people! You don't have to wear ugly heels to be different or "fashionable". Besides, with the amount you would spend on these shoes, you could get about 6 pairs of comfortable, cute and practical heels.

Cute pantyhose can help save your legs from the bitter cold this winter
Some of my favorite items to wear year round are skirts and dresses but let's face it, wearing them in the fall and winter months can make you have goosebumps so bad you'll be growing mini fur boots on your legs by noon.
What can help keep your legs warm and smooth is the addition of hosiery to your wardrobe.
Whether you like to wear sheer black, bold colors, patterns or classic nudes; adding this accessory to everyday wardrobe can enhance a new outfit or add a pop to one of your closet staples.
Besides the color, most panty hose offers slimming and support to your trouble spots; lifting the butt and smoothing your thighs to a point where you can't help but throw on a mini skirt rock it in 40 degree temps!
Recently Bobbi Thomas from the today show did a segment about this season's hot hosiery where she showed how you can dress up outfits with the season's looks. She mentioned in the segment a website I have bought my panty hose from for years called We Love Colors.
They feature any kind of panty hose, leggings and stockings you can imagine in all kinds of colors. The prices are cheap and they ship their products super fast. If you hate shopping for panty hose at 5 different stores until you find the right one, hit up We Love Colors and end your stress already!

In the major creep out moment of the day, I discovered a product called the P-mate that allows for any woman to pee standing up.
Yes, you read that correctly. The product's description reads clearly:
Ok, using the words "whip out" and "pee standing up" in the same description for a woman's product completly FREAKS ME OUT. No way would I ever feel comfortable using this product, especially after seeing the following pictures. I have zero problem in poppin' a squat, hoovering over a toilet or just plain holdin' it!
The P-Mate comes in a 5 pack (gross) and sells for $4.95 on Amazon.
What do you think? Could you use this product without worry?

Local Jaguar fan who is an amazing photographer, shoots local Jag fans and paints them teal.
A little while ago on Twitter I noticed some fans promoting a local photographer doing shoots of Jaguars fans for a campaign he just created called "I'm Teal, Are You?".
The talented photographer's name is Jensen Hande, a die hard Jaguars fan, who started the campaign to show the seriousness and loyalty of the fan base. Each photograph has the skin color of the person changed to teal and in my case, my hair color was changed to red/orange.
Jensen has truly beautiful and insightful photographs and you can tell he has an eye for beauty that I never even noticed in my own neighborhood!
Check out his awesome site and join the "I'm Teal, Are You?" campaign!

For fans of Sex of the City, Thursday May 27th is a day you have been looking forward to since you saw the first movie.
Even if never paid attention to the tv show while it was airing, you can still gather the premise of the show centering around 4 ladies that continue to stay best friends throughout life changes like marriage, cancer and babies. Oh my!
In the new movie, Charlotte struggles with raising 2 kids, Carrie has settled into married life and becoming bored, Samantha is rumored to get married and Miranda is still.....well sort of boring.
Shoes, clothes, cocktails, men center around New York City and a trip to the Emirate in the Middle East. While most reviews are tearing up SATC2, its important to note that the series and movies have, and will always be, fan driven.
Girls have screamed for a positive representation of friends in a modern world. While its true that some girls (and guys) are vicious, when a strong bond is formed between two or more girls, it really is the rock in their lives.
Because when it comes down to it, men are idiots and you need that supportive person to fall back on and really listen to you bitch until you cry your eyes out. Might not be easy for men to understand, but that's why they say women live longer is because we are able to communicate our emotions. Go ahead, google my authority if you wish.
So grab your girlfriends, have some drinks and check out what makes life go round: its the little things people!

For thousands of years, the female population has had a love affair with the common storybook "girl with good morals perseveres through life troubles to nab her fairy tale prince". And no one can better interpret that fantasy than Walt Disney.
For dozens of years, Disney has been worshiped for their ability to capture essence of imagination while continually adapting their merchandise, theme parks and entertainment to the child within us all.
For the past couple weeks, I had the unique opportunity to share in this "imagination stranglehold" that Disney seems to have (esp on girls) at the Magic Kingdom, aka Walt Disney's mecca.
I spent a day with two all-girl groups: one group entitled myself and 6 other mid-20ish friends and the other group involved me chaperoning 6 kids. Sometimes the generational gap was extremely evident and at other times was similar in every way. Some were funny, make you "awww" moments and other situations made you wanna punch someone out.
Hit the jump to read the comparisons on each generation when it comes to rides, characters and the all important merchandise at Disney World....
